Oh eBay! There are no dollhouse shops in my area. There used to be a shop which sold model railroad items and dollhouses and furniture, but it closed down about 10 years ago. Previous to that there was also a nice man who sold dollhouses at a local flea market, sadly he died. I became dollhouse shopping deprived. Then I got on the Internet and found a worldwide community of people just like me! I also found eBay. I love eBay, I buy sometimes from online dollhouse stores, but it not nearly so much fun. I like the bidding, bidding on eBay is about the only excitement I get these days. I love the thrill when I get a great buy. When I lose, I only have that let down feeling for a few minutes because there are always lots more minis to choose from. On eBay I have bought really unusual dollhouse items. I was thrilled one day to find a tiny boat in a bottle up for auction along with a few other things, it was not expensive and the auction was minutes from ending so I bid right away. I won the boat in a bottle which was exciting, but imagine how excited I was to see that the sale included a hand sewn miniature nurses cap. The seller told me it had been made by a friend of his late wife who was presented with it in 1960, when received her nursing diploma. The nurses cap is a real one of a kind treasure, exquisitely sewn. It is one of my favorite mini things. I don't ever spend a lot of money, I don't have a lot of money. The enjoyment I get from getting a little package in the mail containing something new for my dollhouse is priceless.

Look what I bought on eBay !
It's hard to see the little boat in the bottle in the photo. You can see how small it is though. It sits on a dresser in the boy's bedroom in my dollhouse |

Can you see the tiny mouse. I didn't know that I wanted a mouse, but I bought one on eBay and I am glad to have it. Visitors always chuckle when they spot it in the dollhouse attic. |

The sweet little beehive teapot is another favorite. I bought this on eBay with a about 20 other items in a lot. I always look at auction listings of miniature lots because they often contain unusual items. Included with the beehive teapot were the chicken and rooster and the pitcher behind the teapot. These pieces are all sitting on an ice box which I also found on eBay at a great price. |

I realized after I found this teeny model train set that they are not so unusual. However it was the first one I had ever seen and I was so happy to have the winning bid. |

My dollhouse dishes. I would like a real size set in the same colours and at the same price that I paid for these. |

I know this dollhouse vanity is not unusual but the price was unusual and I love it. |

This cute quilt rack came with a lot of dollhouse miniatures. I can tell that it is hand made. It is good work and, if I was not a miniaturist myself, I would not have seen that it is made from tongue depressers. Back to Jennifer's Printables home
